When you meet someone in Texas that wasn’t born and bred, you often hear the quip: “I wasn’t born here, but I got here as fast as I could.” Turns out this sweet couple already remedied the need for this retort for their first born by moving to the Lone Star State from sunny California. I already knew that I wanted to incorporate some of Texas’ beautiful, natural country backdrops into their maternity photoshoot.
The first location for this maternity session would be out in the beautiful landscape of Conroe, Texas. While California boasts itself on its sunshine, Texas showed up to shine some light on why being born and raised here is such a blessing. However, the backdrop quickly fell into the background as the light from Isabel’s maternity glow took center stage. Her pale pink flowy dress created a beautiful contrast to the rustic scenery.
To get out of the heat for the bun in the oven, we moved to the studio for a more chic feel. Isabel’s white dress against the white background was purely celestial. As I kept snapping photos, I could see Isabel’s smile getting more natural with an added twinkle in her eye. It was as if she was soaking in the moment by thinking about all the wonderful memories she would make with her bundle of joy.
Of course, I can’t forget about the dad-to-be! What a trooper?! The endurance with all the varying poses and locations and wardrobes proved that he will undoubtedly be a patient father. But even in the midst of all that, his enthusiasm and adoration for his wife and their baby on the way was heart-warming. And that wasn’t just from the Texas sun.
I hope this photoshoot was a warm welcome to Texas as you welcome your first baby into the world!
