I LOVE lifestyle sessions, especially when they involve newborns. There’s just something special about having bright, professional images that show off authentic moments. It’s the perfect combination: you get the beautiful images you want for announcements, albums, and frames, but you get them right in your own home, where you are all most comfortable. Mom can rest, baby can eat, and the other kiddos can go play as needed. No need to pack everyone up and plan out the formula or expressed milk – just go with the flow at your own pace.
And the images are always amazing since everything feels comfortable. The kiddos usually show off their fun personalities even more than in the studio. I just think it’s so special to capture life as it’s actually happening – to have images to look back on from that stage as a family.
This beautiful mama is a friend of mine from high school, and now she is a phenomenal makeup artist, loving wife, and amazing mother to three beautiful girls. She scheduled this lifestyle newborn session for her third girl who was just born. Her baby looked absolutely precious snuggled inside her warm wrap as she stared up at her two older sisters. They are both so sweet with her – very attentive, loving big sisters!
Her nursery was the perfect place for most of her newborn shots. Soft natural light filled the room, and I love how they kept it simple with some pretty décor. I really love the flower wall her mom created above her crib! She hung sprigs of greenery and flowers so that it looked like they were cascading down the wall – so creative! And it paired great with the vintage teal dresser and changing table. Baby girl slept some through her photoshoot, but when the hunger hit, there was no consoling her! Even in tears she was cute as could be. We took a little break so that she could eat, and then it was back off to sleep as we finished with pictures of the whole family.
