As much as I love photographing babies and toddlers, I always enjoy a chance to shoot high school senior portraits, too. Every time I meet another senior, I am always blown away by how amazingly talented, unique, and gifted they are—each student is truly one-of-kind with distinct individuality. In just eighteen short years, they have transformed from tiny babies into young adults who are ready to leave their mark in their world.
about this session
This session featured the multi-talented beauty, Madelyn. As an ice skater, she knew exactly how to work the camera and which angles would create stunning images—I merely did a little directing and she fell right into the perfect poses. She’s used to being in the spotlight, and we both had a great time putting this collection of images together.
To match her fun, vibrant personality, we incorporated several different styles and themes throughout her outdoor session. To start, we did a few elegant portraits of Madelyn rocking a long, cream-colored dress. The flowy material looked great on her and went well with the light and airy woodsy feel. She looked like she was floating on air!
From there, she changed into a couple fun outfits and pretty dresses—her style is so pretty! She loves to play the ukulele for fun, so I asked her to bring it along and show off her skills. I love how the photos turned out! My goal was to really showcase who Madelyn is, and she looked like she was in her happy place sitting beneath a shade tree strumming along with the breeze.
After getting some closeups of her captivating smile and striking eyes, we closed out the session with some super fun, cute photos. She donned an adorably flattering romper and matching maroon hat and held up an announcement that she is now the, “newest loudest & proudest member of the fightin’ Texas Aggies!” Whoop! You go get ‘em, girl.
I have no doubt that Madelyn will bring fresh perspective and amazing optimism with her on any endeavor she takes on after graduation. I am so excited for you, Madelyn!
