One of my favorite parts about being a photographer is being able to document some of my closest friend’s little ones as they grow over the years. Little Eden here is finally one, and it was time to celebrate in style! What better way than to do a one-year cake smash photo session in The Woodlands? Her mom, Amanda, is one of my absolute closest friends. Not only was it super fun documenting this momentous occasion in Eden’s life, it was an absolute joy to spend some time and catch up with my dear friend.
It’s time for a cake smash!
To start our session, Amanda dressed Eden in an adorable lace dress, adorned with Eden’s name embroidered right across the front. She finished the look off with a dainty golden tiara with tiny pink roses around the edge, showing off just how much of a princess her youngest truly is. To be honest, Eden really wasn’t a fan of the tiara, but it was sure cute while it lasted! 😉
The many faces this sweet girl made kept us in a fit of giggles the entire time. When it was time to dig in to her sweet treat, she was hard-set on sharing with us all. She was such a hoot trying to offer me a piece that I finally gave in. She already has such a giver’s heart just like her mama.
We kept her shoot pretty simple (she has plenty of personality to fill the lens), so we place her little rose-topped cake on a couple natural wooden disks as serving platters. The raw wood added kind of a woodland fairytale touch.
My favorite part of the session was when we dressed little Eden up in a lion onesie. She even sported a few precious whiskers on her face. Oh my goodness, have you ever seen anything cuter in your life!? I love Amanda so much, so I also took a candid shot of her with her two girls as she put the finishing touches on Eden’s lion costume.
I had so much fun catching up with this sweet family. I’d love to capture your little one’s big milestone with a fun cake smash, too! Click here to find out more and get in touch.
