Wanting some updated family portraits but dreading an hour-long session with your littles? Photography mini sessions are especially great for families with little ones because they’re short, sweet, and to the point. You get a few great images for less than what you would pay for a full session, and you don’t have to wrangle toddlers as long. Some of my families only do mini sessions every spring or fall until their kids get just a little older. Plus, we try to pick fun, kid-friendly outdoor locations to keep the smiles going. Kids always seem a little happier outdoors. Find more information to those (including pricing) under “Dainty Sessions” by clicking here!
For this seasonal family mini session, we headed to a park in The Woodlands, Texas. We couldn’t have scheduled a prettier day – the warm sun glowed through the huge pine trees, and the weather was gorgeous. We found an open area surrounded by trees. This family has three handsome, charming little boys who needed a safe space to roam and explore. They were so good during the entire session, and their hilarious antics and displays of true brotherly love (complete with a couple little pokes and grumbles) kept me laughing the whole time. They were all such a pleasure to photograph, and I enjoyed documenting these special memories for them. These early childhood days seem long, but they really do go by in the blink of an eye!
For mini sessions, since they come with fewer photos than full sessions, I try to make sure to get at least one photo of every combination: a formal family portrait, a candid family image, sibling photos, one of each child, and a couple fun images of parents interacting with the kiddos. I want you to have a variety of styles for your collection. I love how these came out! – the boys didn’t mind revealing their fun personalities in front of the camera, and they couldn’t be cuter!
Thanks for such a fun session, Klaus Family!
